I'm a Registered Dietitian (RD) and one of my passions is reintroducing joy into people's food experience, whether that's teaching young children to cook and garden or encouraging my clients to see food as fuel rather than fiend. Navigating health and nutrition should be enjoyable and uplifting, not difficult or stressful.
I also love to laugh and see people smile. In a society where it is easy to become overwhelmed by the negativity broadcasted in mainstream and social media, I am making an effort to add something positive to the world. My goal is to share things that make me happy, and hopefully will make you smile too.
Bringing an extra ounce of positivity to your day is my goal. If one person smiles because of something I've said, all of my efforts will have been worth it.
Wellness is not about looking a certain way, eating certain foods, or logging a certain number of miles on the treadmill. A balanced approach to wellness incorporates physical, mental, and spiritual health, it is unique to each of our individual needs and it adapts to our situation as we grow and change.
Working as a Registered Dietitian, I enjoy collecting tips and tricks for simplifying good nutrition. In my Healthy Bites section, I share these tidbits in an effort to reduce some of the stress that overshadows the joy of healthy eating.
